We’re getting pretty good at labeling which rivets go where and planning ahead to avoid mistakes, but we realized today that we did not yet have the dimpling tool needed for the countersunk rivets. We tried fabricating something to do this and it looked very promising, but fear won out and we decided to wait for the ‘real thing’.

We weren’t totally sure how deep to countersink the holes for the flush rivets, but after some testing and checking and rechecking, off we went. The rest of the riveting was fairly straightforward.
