Lots of partial days and missed weekends between ground school teaching commitments and then coronavirus isolation orders, and a couple of oops moments requiring some rework, but all in all it feels like the wing has been moving along very quickly. Between learning the process and the fact that we’ve been so cramped that a lot of time is wasted looking for parts, the right wing should go lightning fast!
We’ve gotten pretty good with safety wiring after multiple rework items. As of 4/18/2020 we are getting started on the top wing skin. Hate the edge former we bought (one that looks like a pair of pliers) but love the pneumatic riveter. Very happy with the fit and squareness so far. Will probably have to live with the skin not sitting as flush to the leading edge spar due to the forming issues and a few not-perfectly-flat rivets, but our skills are definitely improving every day!
